Rome

Statue at the Trevi Fountain

Rome was the place where history books came alive.  Everywhere I went I saw something that was in an history book.  If I could choose only one place I could go it would be Rome.

The Colosseum

Go to The Vatican and Saint Peter's.  I stood in Saint Peter's for hours.  It was such a peaceful feeling and I was taken back by the beauty.  If your not religious, I think you will find it spiritual.

Inside St. Peter's

I have always enjoyed Italian food, but until visiting Italy I did not realize that I have not had real Italian food.  It simply was the best food I have ever had.

Rome is a small city and you really can for the most part walk around the city without using public transportation. I would not drive in Rome, to hectic for me.

The street scene of Rome

The side streets in Italy look like a scene out of a movie and we enjoyed just exploring them.

Inside the Pantheon

Patheon was built in 126 ad and is one of the oldest buildings in Rome. Its only source of light is a large hole at the top of the dome.
